When we look at the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we must apply the law of first mention. There is a connection between how God introduces a teaching in scripture for the first time and how it carries through to other portions of scripture. The first time we meet the Holy Spirit in scripture, we find Him moving across the darkness of the unformed deep and everything changed!
