Working with teens and kids is a joy for Pastor Jonathan Durso. He loves the opportunity to come alongside parents as they train their children to grow the next generation for Great Commission living. One of his favorite verses is 1 Timothy 4:12 which says: “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
Pastor Jon was saved at the early age of five and was eager to learn about God. After being homeschooled kindergarten through high school, Pastor Jon felt God leading him to Northland Baptist Bible College. Majoring in youth ministries, Pastor Jon graduated in 2008 with his bachelors degree. During his college career He counseled at the Wilds Christian Camp for two summers. Pastor Jon met his wife, Sarah while signing up to work at the Wilds. It was at the Wilds that God solidified the burden and call to youth and teen ministry in his heart.
Shortly after graduating from NBBC, Pastor Jon accepted the call for a part time youth pastorate and moved to Chattanooga, TN. There they served for three years and treasured their time at that ministry. Shortly thereafter, the Lord led the Dursos to Quincy, Michigan where Pastor Jon enjoyed the position of Assistant Pastor, overseeing the administrative side of the ministry along with the youth. Pastor Jon is currently pursuing his masters in biblical counseling from Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
Growing up in western Michigan, He enjoys all things outdoors, particularly snow skiing, hiking, and camping. Sarah loves serving alongside her husband in church ministry and truly enjoys working with children and teen girls. God has blessed the Dursos with two energetic children, Hudson (4) and Lily (1). They are very excited to be a part of God’s program for Faith Baptist Church.
