In Revelation 4, we are given an incredible picture of the holiness, majesty, and supremacy of God. He is pictured for us on His throne, high and lifted up with all His power, praise, and preeminence. We are given a glimpse of the beauty and glory of heaven and the humble worship of those who are gathered around the throne of God. In chapter 5, we are introduced to the great Redeemer of mankind, Jesus Christ the righteous! We see the book, the title deed to all God has promised His Son, the “heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” (Ps. 2:8) John weeps as there was “no man found worthy to open and to read the book.” Then the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ, takes the book and a new song is sung, “Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation…” Hallelujah, What a Savior!
