The Christians greatest battle is with his selfish flesh. (4:1) The foundational need for victory over our selfish tendencies is the grace of God. The only way to access this needed grace is through humility. This morning we want to look at what humility looks like in our lives as we seek the grace of God that is always sufficient. In this text, there are six commands that must be obeyed if we are claiming to truly practice humility. Failure to obey these commands exposes the real reason why there could be so much fighting in our relationships. Obedience reveals humility and humility brings much needed grace. God’s grace is the solution to defeating the idols of our selfish heart that produces the wars that we fight.
