Philippians 2 is considered the great Kinosis passage. Christ becomes 100% man while remaining 100% God. He never lays aside His attributes as God, but He does lay aside the use of them. Even dying the death of the cross. Here lies the example of a true servant. If any group of people, marriage, or home wants unity it will require the individuals to become servants of God in serving one another. This Sunday we want to explore what God teaches us in this text regarding joy that comes from unity. We must have the proper agenda, attitude, and action to experience joy in the mindset of unity. It is a matter of perspective: “We do not have to be a servant, we get to be a servant!” The rewards of a servant’s heart are great!
