Romans 15:4 says, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
The Old Testament is so valuable to us because it helps shape our understanding of who God is and what He is like. A proper view of God keeps our life in perspective. When we find ourselves struggling with life God’s sovereignty, strength, and presence provide hope and comfort. We grow in our relationship with God as we read His Holy Word. Having a faith that is practical is directly related to our view of God.
So this Sunday, let’s consider how great God is and be motivated at the fact that He would desire to have a relationship with us.
