Here in Nehemiah we find a man who cared about what was happening in Jerusalem and it bothered him that it was bringing reproach to the name of God. Are their things that bother you? The practical theme of this great book is to teach that believers must be united in their efforts to serve the Lord. Those who do the Lords work must be willing to work diligently and to overcome all opposition by the enemy. They must be faithful in performing even undesirable jobs, fighting through exhaustion and remaining totally committed to the task at hand.
