The Psalmist ask the Lord to be merciful to him and bless him that “Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among the nations.” (vs. 2) There is no doubt that we are blessed beyond measure, as Americans, and we are the objects of God’s abundant mercy; however, the question that begs to be asked is, “Have we been selfish with God’s blessing?” Are we using His blessing to make His name known throughout the world? Are we enthusiastically participating in His program of worldwide evangelism? The result of obedience to God’s blessing will be a world that has a proper respect for who God is and what He is like.
