Pastor’s Bible Reading Schedule:
Genesis 19:-21; 25:12-18; 1 Chronicles 1:28-31
Key Thought:
Unfortunately, sin is never dormant or stagnant. It tends to continue to progress toward destruction. Lot, who simply looked at Sodom when he pitched his tent toward it, is now living in Sodom and serving on the governing board. What started as curiosity in chapter 13, is a sad reality in chapter 19. Lot is an example of sin’s downward spiral as a person progresses headlong toward destruction. Lot looked at sin until he desired to experience it. Once we have wrong desires, the only thing we lack is an opportunity, which the Devil will make sure we have. Once we are participating in sin, we then feel the need to try to hide our sin. We often buy the lie, “it is just my struggle and everyone struggles.” Once a person is in the stage of hiding sin, it is not long before that sin destroys them.
May we walk in wisdom and live in the fear and respect of who God is and in light of what He wants. May we starve our flesh and walk in the Spirit today and every day.
