Pastor’s Bible Reading Schedule:
Leviticus 13:47-15:33
Saturday: Leviticus 16-18
Sunday: Leviticus 19-21
Key Thought:
I don’t know about you, but these chapters are difficult to navigate through. It can tend to get a bit tedious and extremely detailed.
Why did God have the mother who had given birth wait for a time before entering the sanctuary? Both she and the baby needed time to rest and to recover physically from the birthing process. This is just one illustration of the detail in which God cares for His people.
These laws set Israel apart from the other nations as a people intimately related to their God. If the guidelines were followed, these laws would give Israel certain benefits, including hygienic, health, rest, etc. When Israel observed these laws, she protected herself from the intrusion of false teachings and practices that would have brought her destruction. Through the purifying process the “participant is made aware of his basic alienation from God, and he knows that he must prepare himself to take advantage of the opportunities to approach God. Much like you and I did for salvation. In responding in humility, he demonstrates his obedience to God and discovers the precious joy of fellowship with God.”
