Pastor’s Bible Reading Schedule:
1 Chronicles 15-16; Psalm 15; 30; 122; 65
Key Thought:
Theology, which is the proper study of God, should always lead us to the proper worship of God, which is expressing the worth of God. Learning the truth about God, that He is the giver of all good things, should produce praise for God in the life of every believer. Psalm 65 reveals the truth that God is the source of all good things in life. Therefore, every Christian should offer joyful praise that is consistent with this reality. As God’s blessings flow from heaven’s throne to earth, thankful worship should flow from our hearts to God. Every morning we should spend time acknowledging God’s goodness to us. This psalm teaches all of us to ascribe the praise due God’s name, shouting and singing for joy.
You have heard me say, one of my favorite sayings is, “What if I woke up today with only the things I thanked God for yesterday?” We take so much for granted rather than giving glory, honor, and thanks to the One who has been so good to us. Unfortunately, a lack of praising God leads to complaining, bring critical, and living carelessly in the opportunities God gives to each of us to participate in His program and purposes.
