Psalm 111:6-10
6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant forever: holy and reverend is his name.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever.
Psalm 111 is an expression of personal worship as they Psalmist lifts his voice in praise to God. There is an expression of passion, determination, and resolution. David is resolved to praise the Lord in good times and in bad times. David is convinced that God’s attributes are consistent and they never change. He praises God for His righteousness, compassion, grace, and faithfulness. He exalts God’s power, program, and promises.
What does your personal worship look like? How much time do you spend praising the Lord? This psalm seems to indicate that personal worship is also publicly displayed. The assembly and the congregation must witness the praise of God for His works, wonders, and wisdom. We must make much of God and praise His name!
