Pastor’s Bible Reading Schedule:
Job 39-40
Saturday:Jeremiah 37-41
Sunday:Luke 3-4
In Job 39, the Lord takes us on a tour of questions that He asked Job about the animal kingdom. The purpose of this exam of the animal kingdom was to impress on Job the greatness of God, His majesty as sovereign Creator, and His creative genius and providential care of all things. Making all the animals as He has done displays His perfect wisdom. Likewise, God has made you with the gender, race, physical size, and intelligence that you have. He has made you with perfect design, giving you a unique personality and temperament. Do you see the greatness of His plan toward you?
The lesson is really clear. We must yield our lives to the supremacy of God. How could we ever be impressed with our “greatness” after beholding God’s true grandeur? Our real struggle with trusting God is the battle we face with our inflated ego and opinion of ourselves. The only proper response to God’s infinite majesty is to bow before Him in total humility, giving Him priority in our lives. Will you submit your will to God? Will you surrender your dreams and ambitions to Him? The more we humble ourselves before God, the more He will exalt us. (James 4:10)
