Pastor’s Bible Reading Schedule:
Ezekiel 44-46
Ezekiel 45:1-4
1 Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.
2 Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length, with five hundred in breadth, square round about; and fifty cubits round about for the suburbs thereof.
3 And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place.
4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister unto the LORD: and it shall be a place for their houses, and an holy place for the sanctuary.
The 50 cubits around the sanctuary was designed to protect the holiness of the sanctuary. The priests would put their houses in this section as their responsibility was to protect the testimony and the holiness of the place where God dwelt. Today, in this dispensation, we have the priesthood of the believer. Therefore, we have been given the responsibility, personally, to protect the holiness of where God dwells.
Since the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter dwells inside the believer. “What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you… Therefore, glorify God with your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Cor. 6:19-20) We have the responsibility to use our body only in ways that enhance the opinion other would have of God. We are to help them, by our actions, to come to a right conclusion about who God is and what He is like. Unfortunately, too many Christians today is too concerned about themselves and therefore, live life for themselves with little or no thought about God and the glory that is due His name. May we concentrate today on protecting the holiness of where God dwells and decide to be holy as God is holy.
